Bosco and Ella Thanksgiving Concert Review

So this was my first concert I had attended in years. I must say, it was a blast and reminded me why I love Asian concerts so much! After many years of having Asian concerts in LA, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, etc, it was about time that there was an Asian concert in Chicago!

The concert started at 9pm at Horseshoe Casino to a sold out house. Ella kicked off the night with her charm and her lovely voice. To keep up the crowd's energy, Ella asked some trivia questions and handed out gifts for participants. The best part was when she asked what people eat during Thanksgiving, and the gentleman answered "Hot Pot". The crowd then went crazy when she went out to shake their hands and take pictures with many of her fans.

Ella transitioned the night to Bosco with a romantic duet. Bosco kept up the energy by singing more energetic songs and showed off his dance moves. He too played games with the crowd, including his own version of Simon-Says called "Bosco Wah (Chinese for Says)". The fans went crazy when Bosco went to shake hands with the fans and take pictures. It was so intense that security asked Bosco to go back on stage and not come back down for the night. The female fans went even crazier when he brought up 2 female fans and danced / sung a seductive Leslie Cheung song.

My night wrapped up with a bang when I went backstage. I must admit, Ella and Bosco are both very attractive individuals, especially up-close. Big thanks to Jonathan and Sunday Entertainment Concepts, Inc! Congrats to all that helped with a successful concert. Can't wait for the Ron Ng and Yumiko Cheng Christmas Concert!

thanks for the nice review. I am going to the next concert at Christmas, as well. I have to fly to chicago, and wonder where do you recommend to stay since the horseshoe casino itself do not have a hotel? Thanks! Hope to see you there~

@ Maggie : i'm guessing that you would prefer a hotel in Chicago since i am also assuming your return flight is in Chicago. i got to tell you though that hotels here ain't cheap since most of them are in downtown so expect it to b near $100 per night. there is the Chinatown Hotel but i don't know the price or how is it inside. looks kinda shabby seeing it through the window from outside. the area is safe though thats all i can tell you with a restaurant beside and across and gift shops 1 block away. if you prefer downtown hotels, go for one near the north on michigan ave. there are lots of shopping and somewhat areas for site seeing. transportation is convenient too with either the bus or train.

in addition, our tax rate is 10.25% so think about if u want to shop

Thanks for the helpful info of hotels and tax. I also perfer the Magnificent Mile/N. Michigan ave area. Seems there is a shuttle going to the casino. I am curious where Ron and Yumiko are likely to stay? Are the celebration party gonna be in the casino or Chinatown or somewhere else?

there should b a shuttle to take u there but i never been on it. i think you either have to board it at the main street in chinatown or further down. from what i heard before, hk idols usually eat out at chinatown. before it used to be a specific restaurant but it might go to different ones since that was what happened with ella and bosco

thanks. just curious, where did ella and bosco go for after show celebration? or, is there any other parties or special events for the HK celebs who come to the horseshoe casino for concern? thanks!

the first concert i went to was Kevin Cheng's and Ruby Siu's. they went to the "NEW" Triple Crown on Wentworth street. i heard from friends that HK singers b4 them always went to the "OLD" Triple Crown on 22nd-23rd street. However, the "OLD" Triple Crown closed down when the "NEW" Triple Crown opened. For Bosco and Ella, it was a major let down. There was no certain rumor for which restaurant they would be going and assumed the "NEW" Triple Crown. However, the "OLD" Triple Crown's location had a reopening with another name (didn't really check what it was called). Some ppl assumed that they would eat at the "NEW" Triple Crown and it was a disappointment for them not to go there. They went to the "OLD" Triple Crown location instead. hope this makes sense

thanks for the detailed info. yes. it makes sense to me. i am so inexpereinced with such things, but wonder for their whole trip to Chicago, what are the chances to meet them? (a) airport? (b) rehearsal (usually what time on the same day of the concert?) (c) hotel (where do the HK celeb usually stay at Chicago?) (d) any where else? i will fly to chicago just for the concert. It will be a pity if i can only see them singing on stage. thanks!!!

i don't think you should put much hope into any of these if i were you. (a) chicago has 2 airports same distance. if they are to come from out of country, they must arrive at ORD but national flights also can be here. MDW is only for national flights. (b) i believe they rehearse on the same day. during the bosco and ella's concert, bosco had to pull out the lyrics for the last song. i think it is the same sheet of lyrics as their rehearsal photos on facebook at Sunday Entertainment's group or ella's page. (c) too many hotels with mayb near 30 in downtown and a lot near airports. (d) my friend said her friend saw bosco eating at the casino buffet at 3-4 so u can try bumping into them.
